The Great Co-Mission
Five Greek words show that the so called "Great Commission" – into all the world – as given by Jesus to his disciples was, according to the Scriptures, fulfilled in the "this generation" time-frame AD30-70, being the precursor to the Parousia of Christ.
Oikoumene– meaning: the inhabited earth e.g., Lk 2:1:
Mt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world – oikoumene [οικουμενη] as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.
Rom 10:18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: "Their sound has gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world – oikoumene [οικουμενη]."
Gē– meaning: earth or land:
Rom 10:18 But I say, have they not heard? Yes indeed: "Their sound has gone out to all the earth – gē [γη], and their words to the ends of the world.
Act 1:8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth– gē [γη]."
Ethnefrom which "ethnic" is derived:
Mt 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations – ethne [εθνη], baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…
Rom 16:26 …but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations – ethne [εθνη], according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—
Kosmos – meaning: the aggregate of humanity.
Rom 1:8 First, I thank my God through Jesus Christ for you all, that your faith is spoken of throughout the whole world – kosmos [κοσμος].
Col 1:6 …has come to you, as it has also in all the world – kosmos [κοσμος], and is bringing forth fruit, as it is also among you since the day you heard and knew the grace of God in truth.
Ktisei– meaning: the human creation:
Mk 16:15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world – kosmos [κοσμος] and preach the gospel to every creature– ktisei [κτισει].
Col 1:23 …if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature – ktisei [κτισει] under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.
What then of our responsibility toward sharing the goodness of God, are we therefore exempt? By no means – ours is the "Great Co-mission" [1Cor 3:9; 2Cor 5:20], the privilege of joining with the Spirit and saying "Come!!" Ours is the wonderful opportunity of bringing those on the highways and byways of life and inviting them to come and partake of the Marriage supper of the Lamb – dwelling in His courts forever, Hallelujah!!
Rev 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, "Come!" And let him who hears say, "Come!" And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
Rev 19:7, 9 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."
Then he said to me, "Write: "Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb!"' And he said to me, "These are the true sayings of God."
Mt 22:9 Therefore go into the highways, and as many as you find, invite to the wedding.
